According to research by Dr. Andy Morgan of Yale, as described in the Newsweek article Lessons In Survival: The science that explains why elite military forces bounce back faster than the rest of us, people with metronomic (steady) heartbeats are the best at coping with stress. However, this telltale is also an indicator of heart disease and sudden death.
